Extension of Time for Submission of the Capital Improvement Program

for 2003-2004 through 2007-2008

This memorandum is a follow-up to the instructions provided at the Capital Improvement

Program (CIP) Workshop which gave a due date of July 24, 2002, for submission of the

colleges CIPs to the Division. Because the 2002-2003 Public Education Capital Outlay

(PECO) appropriations are provided in total lump sums for each college as well as the

universities, your local boards of trustees must take action to allocate funds to specific

projects as required by the Proviso Language in the Appropriations Act. To provide the

boards additional time to make these decisions, we are extending the due date until

October 1, 2002

. Please ensure that your local board takes action on the issue in time to

submit your CIP for the development of the 2003-2004 Legislative Fixed Capital Outlay

Budget Request on or before that date.
