Articulation Policy Amendment to State Board of Education
Rule 6A-1.09941, F.A.C.

In September 2003, the State Board of Education approved an amendment to Rule 6A-1.09941
(formerly
6A-1.099)
, Florida Administrative Code, with regard to uniform procedures for the acceptance of transfer
work and credit for students entering public schools in the state of Florida. The original notification of
this change was disseminated in October 2003.
While reviewing the rule at the Home Education Technical Assistance Meeting in Tallahassee in July,
there were many questions, and it became apparent that not all school districts have had the opportunity to
read and implement the provisions of the amended rule. These changes must be incorporated into the
local school district’s Pupil Progression Plan no later than the beginning of the 2005-06 school year.
For your convenience, a copy of the October 2003 Memorandum is attached. Please review the changes
and begin planning for revisions to your Pupil Progression Plan, as needed. The Department of Education
will be providing technical assistance to school districts via a Technical Assistance Paper (TAP) and
conference calls. Specific dates and times will be announced in the near future.
