SUBJECT:
Regional Workshops for IEP: Make It Measurable
We are pleased to announce six regional workshops for
IEP: Make It Measurable
developed
through the Accommodations and Modifications Project for Students with Disabilities at the
Learning Systems Institute (LSI), and Florida State University (FSU), sponsored by the Bureau of
Exceptional Education and Student Services.
The full day train-the-trainer workshop enables participants to write statements of present levels
of educational performance and annual goals including short-term objectives or benchmarks that
are in compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Florida
requirements and prepares them to present a one-day workshop to teach others. Those who
attend the train-the-trainer workshop will receive a replicable
packet of training materials.
We need your help in identifying persons who can attend the workshops. Please ask persons
from your district or region to complete a workshop registration form (attached) and fax or mail
it by November 19, 2004, to Ms. Flossie Smallwood, LSI/FSU, 227 N. Bronough St., Suite 7200,
Tallahassee, Florida 32301 (phone: 850-921-9268; fax: 850-921-0755; e-mail:
mfsmallwood@lsi.fsu.edu).
