Clarification of Technical Assistance Note FY2005-01 – Reporting Home Education

Students on the Automated Student Information System

This is to notify you that the Department of Education (DOE) has determined that school districts will not

be required to transmit home education data as part of the Student Data Base as previously described in

Technical Assistance Note FY2005-01 dated August 2004. Although districts are no longer required to

transmit home education data during Survey 2 and Survey 3, it will be necessary to maintain these data at

the local level and provide information to the DOE on an aggregated basis. Additional information and

instructions regarding reporting requirements for home education student data will be sent in the near

future.
