SUBJECT:
Partnership for Effective Programs for Students with Autism
The Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services and the Center for Autism and Related
Disabilities (CARD) are pleased to announce the sixth year of the Partnership for Effective Programs for
Students with Autism. The Partnership Program provides opportunities for school districts and CARD
staff members to work collaboratively to develop exemplary programs for students with autism. The
Partnership Program represents one component of the Bureau’s initiative to support professional
development and training in the area of autism and offers a unique opportunity to individual teachers or
schools that wish to implement innovative practices for students with autism.
Last year, 54 teachers from 24 school districts participated in the program, and we are looking forward to
having even greater representation this year. You ar
to those teachers, both general and special education, who you feel may be qualified and interested in
participating in this program. The Bureau and the CARD centers are pleased to offer this opportunity to
work collaboratively with school districts in the development of exemplary programs.
If you have specific questions about the Partnership Program, please contact Ms. Donna Casella,
Education and Training Coordinator, University of South Florida, Center for Autism and Related
