    Dear Educator:
The Department of Education’s Coordinated School Health Program (CSHP) is providing the opportunity
for parents to participate in an evening workshop in order to develop or improve communication skills
between themselves and their children. The workshop, titled
Birds, Bees and Butterflies in Your Stomach,
will be presented by Dr. Marilyn Volker, Diplomat of the American Board of Sexology, Associate Fellow
of the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists, and a sexuality educator for the past 30 years. Dr.
Volker will address child/teen sexual development, suggest specific strategies for addressing issues, and
answer questions regarding this subject. The goal of this workshop is to help parents feel more at ease
when discussing the issue of sexuality with their children.
The parent workshop will be offered on
September 29, 2004, in Pensacola, at the University of West
Florida Conference Center and October 6, 2004, in Tallahassee, at the Leon County Civic Center
    from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Please find attached a tentative agenda, and a registration form.
    Parents may register by submitting
this form via fax by September 24, 2004 to (850) 245-5116 or e-mail to
