2004 Title I Statewide Conference and Call for Proposals
We are pleased to announce the 2004 Title I Statewide Conference to be held at the Disney
Coronado Springs Hotel and Resort, Orlando, Florida on November 7-10, 2004. The Opening
General Session will begin at 8:30 a.m. on November 8 with a keynote address by Dr. Willard
Daggett. Other keynotes will include Dr. Jackie Jackson, Director of Student Achievement and
School Accountability Programs for the United States Department
representatives from the Florida Department of Education. In addition, participants will be able
to choose from over sixty concurrent sessions relating to curriculum, instruction, model
programs, Title I requirements, accountability, school improvement, school reform, serving
multiple and diverse populations, school choice options and opportunities, and supplemental
educational services, among others.
The target audience for this important event includes district Title I coordinators and other
administrators, school principals and teachers, curriculum and instruction personnel, staff

development contacts, English for Speakers of Other Languages staff, exceptional student
educators, federal program administrators, and other personnel who work with students at risk of
academic failure.
Your support and the participation of your key staff in this important statewide professional
development activity are essential to achieving our goals of insuring the highest quality
education for all the students in Florida and the most effective use of our state, local, and federal
resources. Please post and distribute copies of the attached Call for Proposals. All proposals for
session presentations must be returned no later than September 10, 2004, to be considered.
Proposals should be sent electronically to Sharon Mitchell at Mitchells@paec.org. Applicants
will be notified by September 24, 2004.
Further details regarding this conference will be sent to you in the near future. Information is
