90 Minute Reading Block Video

Just Read, Florida! is pleased to announce the completion of a video on the 90 minute reading
block. This video was created as part of our efforts to implement a comprehensive system of
reading instruction in all Florida elementary schools. The video may be used with school
administrators, reading coaches, and all elementary teachers.
Filmed in a Florida
Reading First
school, the video shows an example of the 90 minute reading
block that is mandated in all
Reading First
and Elementary Reading Coach Grant schools and
highly recommended for all Florida elementary schools. The video is approximately 30 minutes
in length with online follow-up activities available at www.paec.org on the electronic
Professional Development Center (ePDC).
One copy of a VHS tape and a DVD will be mailed to each school district to the attention of the
Reading/Language Arts Supervisor. It may also be accessed by:

Logging on to www.fec.tv (The Just Read, Florida! website will also display the video
by August 16th.)

Tuning in to the broadcast every week on the Florida Education Channel (FEC). A
schedule of broadcasts is published weekly on www.fec.tv
