    SUBJECT:
    Upcoming Classroom Walk-Through Training – August, 2004

As we continue our efforts to implement the Professional Development System Evaluation
Protocol, we are providing district and school level administrators and other professional
development professionals with the opportunity to become trained in the Classroom Walk-
Through process. To facilitate this process, we are soliciting applications for up to 50
professionals to become trained as Classroom Walk-Through (CWT) Trainers able to conduct
training sessions that will result in their trainees able to engage in and conduct classroom walk-
throughs, analyze the information collected and conduct a reflective conversation with the
    teacher as a follow-up to the walk-through.

A full day of initial customized training will be provided to each cohort of 25 participants. The
training will take place at a hosting school, and includes the walk-through practicum. A second
day of follow-up training and coaching will be scheduled and provided for each cohort of 25.
The follow-up session will take place at a hosting school, and includes walk-throughs.

Participants agree to collect formative data, and bring their walk-through data for discussion
during the morning session. Palm Handheld Computer support training will be provided after
participants have completed the morning session to enable them to use CWT on their handheld
    computer.
