Restoration of the $14,800,000 withheld from the 2003-04 Florida Education
Finance Program Fourth Calculation
In the 2003-04 Florida Education Finance Program (FEFP) fourth calculation, the total FEFP
appropriation was reduced by $14,800,000. This reduction was due to a revision in the revenue
estimate for the Principal State School Trust Fund. Please see our Chief Operating and
Education Financial Officer memorandum dated May 12, 2004 (COEFO 04-34). Subsequently,
these funds became available.
The attached spreadsheet details the distribution of the $14,800,000 including both the adjusted
net state FEFP with the reduction and the adjusted net state FEFP with the restoration of these
funds. Adjustments for the Opportunity and McKay Scholarship programs and prior year
adjustments are included in the adjusted net state FEFP amounts. Distributions derived from the
restoration of these funds began on June 10, 2004.
