2004 LEGISLATIVE REQUIREMENTS REGARDING STUDENTS WITH
READING
DEFICIENCIES
AND
STUDENT PROGRESSION – CS/SB 364
 
We want to thank all of the district and school personnel that participated in a recent series of conference
calls and shared their issues and plans for implementing new legislative requirements related to students
with reading deficiencies and student progression.
 
Initial information regarding Committee Substitute for Senate Bill 364 (CS/SB 364) was provided in DPS
Memorandum #04-125, dated May 21, 2004. We are pleased to provide you the attached chart that
compares existing and new requirements as amended in sections 1002.20 and 1008.25, Florida Statutes.
These requirements include:
