2004-05 Comprehensive School Reform Funding Opportunity Video Teleconference
The Florida Department of Education, Bureau of School Improvement, is sponsoring a satellite video
teleconference from 9:00 AM – noon EDT, on Tuesday, May 18, 2004. The purpose of this
teleconference is to highlight supplemental funding opportunities for eligible Title I and Title V Florida
public schools for the 2004-2005 school year. The funding area is:
Comprehensive School Reform
(CSR)
. CSR schools in the final year of their three-year funding cycle will be eligible for one more year
of continuation funding and should
scientifically-based research strategies that will accomplish whole school reform should also be available
to view the broadcast

For your information, a listing of schools not eligible for CSR funding and a
listing of schools with one year of CSR funding remaining are attached.

To allow participants to effectively participate in the telecast, DRAFT copies of the RFP components for
CSR, the satellite linkage information for The Florida Knowledge Network, and model provider web site
and contact information will be placed on the Bureau of School Improvement’s (BSI) web site at:
www.osi.fsu.edu prior to the telecast. As an added convenience, viewers will be able to ask questions by
calling 1-800-471-8276; faxing questions to 1-850-245-0820; or by e-mailing them to Rose Raynak at
Rose.Raynak@fldoe.org during the telecast. Questions will be addressed after the telecast and a
Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) link will be available on the BSI web site for later reference.
Questions specifically for model providers will be forwarded directly to them after the telecast.
If you are unable to view the satellite teleconference on the scheduled date, details about a rebroadcast
will be announced during the telecast and will be posted on the web site after the telecast.
Every school district, community college, university and public television station in Florida has been
provided with and has installed appropriate satellite reception equipment. Programming is primarily
distributed over digital multicast by Florida’s public television stations. Broadcasts may also be received
directly from satellite. Many districts redistribute programming on local cable and wireless public access
channels.
