The Bureau of Instructional Support and Community Services is pleased to provide you with the 2004 LEA Profile.

The profile incorporates a variety of data related to educational benefit, educational environment, and prevalence of

exceptional students. Data in the profile represent the most current information available and in some cases trend

data over the course of three years.

There are some differences in the data this year as compared to the 2003 profile. Added to the profile are data

addressing post-school outcomes, third grade promotion and retention, and more detail on the educational settings of

students with disabilities. In order to provide districts with data in a timely manner, assessment data are not

included in the profile but will be disseminated separately in the fall.

Copies of the 2004 LEA Profile will be posted on the Department of Education website no later than May 15, 2004,
