The purpose of this memorandum is to ask for your assistance with a major Department initiative. Within the next few weeks,
the Department will unveil its “Return on Investment” (ROI) website to provide performance information on individual schools

In order to be certain that all items in this site are have been reviewed by districts, we are providing both data files and report files
that have include the data used in the for calculation of the “Return On Investment” index. This includes up to seven data files
and seven report files which contain 2001-2002 data. All of the data in the files are for the 2001-2002 year. The data set names
are:
DPSXX.GQ.F70461.TYPE**.0102 for the data files;
DPSXX.GQ.F70462.TYPE**.0102 for the report files.
Where XX = district number and ** = type (01, 02, 03, 21, 22, 88, 99)
Type 01 = Elementary
Type 02 = Middle
Type 03 = High
Type 21 = ESE
Type 22 = DJJ/Alternative
Type 88 = No ROI calculated. Deleted from ROI.
Type 99 = No ROI calculated. Other data available in ROI system.
These data files should be downloaded and reviewed by your staff. Please review the assignment of schools to the categories
