We are pleased to provide you with a copy of the results of the

Prekindergarten Program for Children with

Disabilities Program and Training Survey

conducted by the University of Central Florida; College of Education;

Department of Child, Family, and Community Sciences on behalf of the Florida Department of Education (DOE),

Bureau of Instructional Support and Community Services.

The purpose of this survey was to gain a clearer understanding of the status and needs of prekindergarten

exceptional student education programs throughout the state. Areas of particular interest were program status and

development needs, training and technical assistance, transition from the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act

(IDEA) Part C services to Part B services, and preferred methods of communication between the DOE and school

district personnel. The findings from this survey will be used to inform future state level planning and initiatives for

programs serving prekindergarten children with disabilities.
