Recommendations for Dual Enrollment Course Equivalency List

 

Dual enrollment with community colleges has increased by 110% over the last decade. The

opportunity for motivated, well-prepared students to earn college credit while in high school has

become a widely accepted and utilized method of adding rigor to students’ schedules. Not only

are students highly successful in their dual enrollment courses, but they go on to be successful in

subsequent coursework at the university level.

 

As dual enrollment continues to grow, so too does the need for ongoing review of the courses

offered to students through the program. In 2001, the Articulation Coordinating Committee

(ACC) approved an extensive list that provides high school credit equivalencies for courses

taken through dual enrollment. Since the release of the original list, there has been one revision,

which reflects the addition of college English courses that earn a full high school credit.

 

To accommodate requests by school districts for further additions to the list, faculty committees

will review recommendations each January, with the intention of having any additional courses

approved by the ACC in mid-February. The effective date of the revised lists will be August of

each year.

 

Please submit your district’s course recommendations no later than Friday, January 23, 2004.

Recommendations received by the deadline will be eligible for review in January.

Submissions received after the January 23 deadline will be held over for review in the

next cycle. Submissions can be made using the attached form and can be emailed
