MEMORANDUM
TO:
District School Superintendents
FROM:
Raymond Monteleone
SUBJECT:
2004-05 Full-Time Equivalent Student Enrollment Forecasting Process
School districts’ Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) student forecast is important primary information for the
legislative appropriations process. The Department of Education’s FTE forecast software is used by districts
to create an FTE forecast for the 2004-05 budget year.
Enrollment forecasting workshops have been scheduled for the week of November 3-7, 2003. Some of the
sessions will be designed for new staff, while others provide a review of the process for more experienced
forecasters. Workshop space is limited; participants should register early (see attachment for workshop
details).
The deadline for DOE to receive your district’s 2004-05 FTE student enrollment forecast is
December 13, 2003.
Thank you for your assistance and efforts in making the forecasting process as accurate and timely as
possible.
