“Transporting Students with Autism”—Regional Workshops

The Department’s School Transportation Management section is offering three regional
workshops in October on the best practices for transporting students with autism. Ms. Jocelyn
Taylor, MS, CCC-SLP, Education Specialist on Autism for the Utah Department of Education,
will be the presenter. Ms. Taylor has over 20 years of experience working with students with
autism and will provide many effective transportation strategies for district personnel.
Even though the workshops are designed to address the special transportation-related needs of
students with autism, we encourage exceptional student education personnel to attend. The date
and location for each workshop are listed on the attached registration form. The workshops in
Osceola and Leon districts can accommodate 100 participants; the workshop in Lee district can
accommodate 50 people.
We are hoping most participants will be able to make this a one day event but for those who
might need motel accommodations, please contact the following people for more information. In

WHAT:
Jocelyn Taylor, MS, CCC-SLP, is an Education Specialist on Autism for the
Utah State Office of Education. She has worked with students with autism for over 20
years and has many wonderful experiences and effective strategies to share regarding
