Limited English Proficient Codes and Plan B
Rule 6A-6.03019, FAC, Special Instructional Programs for Students Who are Gifted, allows school
districts to develop a plan for determining eligibility for gifted services for students who have limited
English proficiency (LEP) or who are from low socio-economic households. These plans are
commonly referred to as “Plan B.”
Students with the following codes may be considered for gifted services under Plan B:
LY = K-12 grade LEP students enrolled in cla
ms for Students Who are Gifted, allows school
districts to develop a plan for determining eligibility for gifted services for students who have limited
English proficiency (LEP) or who are from low socio-economic households. These plans are
commonly referred to as “Plan B.”
Students with the following codes may be considered for gifted services under Plan B:
LY = K-12 grade LEP students enrolled in classes specifically designed for LEP students
LN = K-12 grade LEP students not enrolled in classes specifically designed for LEP students
LP = 4-12 grade LEP students for whom the reading/writing test is pending
LF = K-12 grade former LEP students who exited the program within the last two years.
