The Department of Education has just launched our new Paperless Communications
system. This is a project that has grown from the original idea of the Commissioner’s
E- Mail List and has many new features and improvements. We are asking all of you
who are currently on the E-mail list to check out the new system and, if you are
interested, please register so that you may still receive information regarding education in
Florida. Simply go to the Department’s main web page at www.myfloridaeducation.com
and click on “Official Communications” located on the left side of the page.
There, you will have an opportunity to sign up to receive e-mail from us about a variety
of topics! After July 1, 2002, we will rely on this system rather than bulk mail or mass
faxing in our efforts to distribute information to the school districts, community colleges
and universities, as well as the general public. Additionally, this system will replace the
current Commissioner’s E-Mail List.
Make sure you choose the K-12 interest area, the Commissioner’s E-Mail List and all
other areas of interest such as the Monday Report under the “Publications” section.
When you sign up this way, please also go to http://www.firn.edu/commissioner , and
remove your name from that list so that we don’t send you two e-mails about the same
issues. It is our hope that all of you who currently receive e-mail from DOE will
subscribe to our new communications system before July 1.
Thank you for your continued interest in Florida’s educational community!
Florida Department of Education
Charlie Crist, Commissioner
