SUBJECT: Florida PreK-20 Partnerships in Education Database
    ______________________________________________________________________________

    The
PreK-20 Partnerships in Education Conference: Addressing Florida
    s Need for More
    High-Quality Teachers
, held last month in Orlando, was a tremendous success. Participants
reported that the meeting provided a welcome impetus for re-energizing existing PreK-20
educational partnerships, as well as forming new ones.

During the last year, personnel in the Division of Colleges and Universities and the Division of
Community Colleges have developed and implemented a Web-supported database to capture
valuable information regarding school and school district/college partnership activities in the
state. Institutional personnel are slowly populating the database with these initiatives. In this
post-conference time of enthusiasm and renewed purpose, we would like to encourage presidents
to urge the Database Liaisons at your institutions to be sure that all of your school and school
district/college partnerships are represented in the database. The database concept was well
received at the conference, and we are confident that consolidated information about your
initiatives will help us “tell Florida’s PreK-20 partnership story,” as well as provide your faculty
and other stakeholders with valuable information that will enhance their individual efforts.
