Title I/Migrant Statewide Technical Assistance Conference
The Florida Department of Education and the Florida Association of State and Federal Education Program
Administrators (FASFEPA) are pleased to announce the Title I/Migrant Statewide Technical Assistance
Conference to be held September 7- 12, 2003, at the Peabody Hotel, 9801 International Drive, Orlando, Florida.
Districts should send staff charged with implementing the new NCLB legislation. The intended audience for this
conference includes district coordinators for Title I and Migrant, Homeless Education, English for Speakers of
Other Languages (ESOL), and School Improvement; Administrators of Federal Programs; principals; lead
teachers, Migrant Advocates and Recruiters; and Parent Advisory Council members. The agenda will include
sessions to provide state technical assistance, which will enable districts to be in compliance with NCLB. Please
review the enclosed conference information packet and share with appropriate staff members.
The meeting will begin at 12:00 noon on Monday, September 8, 2003. The conference pre-registration fee is
$125.00 or late/on-sight registration is $150.00. To support FASFEPA, please choose the option to pay $150.00
or $175.00 to become a member or to update your membership. All current memberships will expire in August
2003.
The room rate at the Peabody is $95.00 single or double. Please make your reservations directly with the hotel at
1-800-732-2639, by August 18, 2003. Ask for the block of rooms reserved for the Title I/Migrant Statewide
Technical Assistance Conference.
