Amendment to State Board of Education Rule 6A-14.057 – Student Activities
The State Board of Education (SBE) approved an amendment to SBE Rule 6A-14.057, Student Activities,
during the May 20, 2003 board meeting which was conducted by conference call.
The amendment requires each board of trustees to adopt procedures for student participation in the
development of the student activity and service fee budget. Such procedures require the budget to be
based upon an estimate of total funds generated from this fee as well as an estimate of funds carried
forward from the prior year.
Development of guidelines for such procedures have been developed as a collaborative effort of the
Council of Presidents, Florida Junior Community College Student Government Association, and Division
staff.
These guidelines are included in the Florida Community College System Guidelines and
Procedures Manual. A copy of the State Board agenda item and the procedures are attached. The website
