District School Calendar, 2003-2004

Prior to the beginning of each fiscal year, each district school board is required to adopt an

annual calendar to be observed by all schools under the board’s jurisdiction. Rule 6A-10.019,

FAC, stipulates that the approved calendar must be filed with the Department of Education and

describes the dates to be included in the school calendar. (See copy of enclosed Rule.)

To assist your district in complying with Rule 6A-10.019, FAC, the Bureau of Education

Information and Accountability Services is responsible for collecting these calendars.

Please

forward a copy of your official school calendar(s) for 2003-2004 by May 30, 2003, to the Bureau

of Education Information and Accountability Services, 325 West Gaines Street, Room 852,

Tallahassee, Florida 32399-0400, Attention: Becky Sims.

Also enclosed is ESE Form 377, District School Calendar Information Supplement, which

provides a format for reporting certain important dates that may not be specified on your

district’s calendar(s).

Review this supplement and return, if applicable, with a copy of your

official school calendar(s).

Please include all year-round school tracks and dates with

intersession periods.
