The purpose of the Governor’s Summer Program is
to provide an opportunity for outstanding gifted and
high-achieving students to participate in and use the
resources of the universities and colleges in Florida.
Institutions of higher education, public or private, submit
proposals to provide day or residential summer programs for
gifted and high-achieving students entering grades 8-12. Their aim
is to use the academic str
engths and unique instructional resources of
the sponsoring institution to provide lear
ning experiences not available
in the secondary education programs of participating students.
