RE:
2003 Technology Resource Survey
The new Technology Resource Survey (TRS) will go online on January
6, 2003. The TRS solicits responses from K-12 principals about
technology at their respective schools. Each principal will be given a
password allowing access to the survey. The survey will be open for
input until February 1, 2003.
This survey has traditionally inquired about the numbers and kinds of
computers available in schools. Although we have retained a few such
questions, the new TRS will focus much more on how technology is
used in schools and on the attitudes of leadership towards the use of
educational technology. These changes reflect state and federal
refocusing of attention on the integration of technology and on student
achievement.
The results of this survey will be reported online to schools and
districts in the spring of 2003, and will provide valuable data to be
used for school and district technology planning and for federal
reporting required of Enhancing Education Through Technology grant
recipients.
For more information about the Technology Resource Survey, please
contact either Sandy Pelham (email: sandra.pelham@FLDOE.org), or
Melinda Crowley (email: melinda.crowley@FLDOE.org). Both may be
reached by telephone at 850/488-0980 or SC 278-0980.
