Subject:
STUDENT SERVICES WEEK, FEBRUARY 2-8, 2003
Student Services Week has been established for February 2-8, 2003, in the
State of Florida. Student support services professionals work together to
enhance our children's educational experience. This provides an opportunity
for school personnel to focus attention on the support services that are
provided to students, parents, educators, and the community by school
counselors, school nurses, school psychologists, school social workers, and
career education staff. Districts can support the role of student services by
developing personal activities within the school system and community to
inform citizens of the many ways that student services personnel contribute
to the educational success and personal development of all students.
We are pleased to provide you with a reproducible brochure,
Student
Support Services:
Supporting Student Achievement in Florida's Public
Schools
,
that can be used to inform education communities about activities
and services provided to students, parents, school personnel, district school
boards, and community partners by student services professionals. This
brochure may be used to assist district and school level administrators by
identifying support services activities that directly support the school district
mission and school improvement plan goals. Under separate cover, a copy
of the brochure will be distributed to Assistant Superintendents for
Instruction. Multiple copies will be sent to Student Services Directors to
distribute to district student services supervisors, principals, and student
services staff.
