ALTERNATIVE SCHOOLS/PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS
REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL 2004-2005
We are pleased to inform you that the 2004 Florida Legislature appropriated $4,000,000 for
Alternative Schools/Public Private Partnerships for 2004-2005. Your district may apply for
funding for one of these educational projects to serve at least 500 disruptive and low performing
students per school in grades 6-12. Programs that are funded must provide proof of educational
progress in reading and mathematics demonstrated in existing programs, of at least three years of
experience, with similar student populations.

You are invited to submit a proposal as described in the enclosed Florida Department of
Education Request for Proposal (RFP) instructions. One original and three copies of the project
proposals are due no later than close of business
November 30, 2004.
Proposals will be reviewed
in accordance to process and scoring criteria outlined in the RFP. We anticipate notifying
applicants of the review outcomes by the second week of December 2004.
