PURPOSE OF PROGRAM:
The purpose of the Elementary and Secondary School
Counseling Program is to support efforts by local educational agencies (LEAs) to
establish or expand elementary school and secondary school counseling
programs.
 
DEADLINE:
January 28, 2008.
 
 
ESTIMATED AVERAGE SIZE OF AWARDS:
$350,000. Estimated number of
awards is 50.
 
ELIGIBILITY:
Local educational agencies (LEAs), including charter schools that
are considered LEAs under State law. LEAs that currently have an active grant
under the Elementary and Secondary School Counseling Program are not eligible
to apply for an award in this competition. For the purpose of this eligibility
requirement, a grant is considered active until the end of the grant's project or

funding period, including any extensions of those periods that extend the
grantee's authority to obligate funds.

PROGRAM:
Integration of Schools and Mental Health Systems.

PURPOSE OF PROGRAM:
Grants for the Integration of Schools and Mental
Health Systems will provide funds to increase student access to high-quality
mental health care by developing innovative approaches that link school systems
with the local mental health system.

January 30, 2008.

$250,000. Estimated number of
awards is 19.

Toyota TAPESTRY
 
PROGRAM:
Toyota TAPESTRY Grants for Science Teachers.
 
 
PURPOSE OF PROGRAM:
Toyota TAPESTRY distinguishes exceptional educators
who are making a difference by representing excellence and creativity in science
teaching. This program offers grants to K–12 science teachers for innovative
projects that enhance science education in the school and/or school district. Fifty
large grants and a minimum of 20 mini-grants, totaling $550,000 in all, will be
awarded this year
 
DEADLINE:
January 28, 2008.

FUNDING:
Fifty large grants of up to $10,000 each and 20-32 mini-grants of up
to $2,500 will be awarded to K-12 teachers of science in the United States.
 
ELIGIBILITY:
A middle or high school science teacher who teaches at least two
science classes per day or an elementary teacher who teaches some science in
the classroom. All applicants must have a minimum of at least two years science
teaching experience in a K-12 school not including the current school year.
